Thank-you to everyone who supported the Cream Teas. It was a very enjoyable and sociable afternoon and raised £128 for church expenses.

On Friday 2nd November, it was our privilege to welcome so many people to Edgcott Church for the All Soul’s Day Memorial Service. As always, it was a very moving service, followed by a chance to chat over a cup of tea and biscuits. Retiring donations were in aid of Dementia UK and raised £117.32

Armistice Day was very fittingly on a Sunday for this, the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War 1. The church was adorned with flags and poppies and there was a display of photos of some who had served in the forces. The service was well attended and a very moving and fitting tribute. The offertory raised £90 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. The church was also open in the afternoon for people to stop by for a period of personal reflection.

The annual Carol Service will be on Sunday 16th December at 3pm and will be followed by tea and mince pies. The church always looks stunning for Christmas so why not come along and see for yourself? It’s also a great opportunity to sing favourite carols and to hear again the good news of Jesus’ birth, while taking a breather from our busy lives.

As in previous years, there will be Carol Singing in the Village Hall on Christmas Eve at 6.30pm. Singing lasts for about 30 minutes and is followed by FREE refreshments. Everyone is very welcome, your visitors too! Please bring a torch so we can sing in subdued lighting and also a mug for your mulled wine. Offers of help with mince pies, sausage rolls or mulled wine much appreciated. Call Sue Rogers (770241) or Jean Crawford (770453). Thanks.

This year, the Midnight Communion Service is at Preston Bissett starting at 11.30pm.  You may even spot Santa or hear the reindeer as you return home.

The Christmas Day Communion Service is at 11am. Do come along! Everyone is most welcome.
